Sky Mall Catalog

Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona Sky Mall, Inc. was established as a joint venture of the Greenspun Corporation and Spire Capital in 1990 under the leadership of Bob Worsley, Alan Lobock, Matthew Del Bianco, and Graham Alcock.  Sky Mall started out by selling various items from other mail order catalogs that were to be shipped from the Sky Mall warehouses and delivered the same day to certain United States airports, to the customer’s home, office or to some other designation via express mail within the United States.  It was not until some time after its initial launch that Sky Mall, Inc. acquired the rights to sell commodities to passengers in flight aboard many U.S. air carriers.  As a consequence of this move, Sky Mall, Inc. had to restructure its mode of operations and was forced to drop its service of the same-day delivery.

Today, the Sky Mall catalog is either found in the seat pocket in front of every airline passenger or it is distributed by an aircraft attendant.  The Sky Mall catalog displays a wide selection of innovative and unique merchandise which is categorized by departments such as:

A traveler may order anything from the Sky Mall catalog by using any of the telephones available on board the airplane or later on from a land telephone at the airport or from anywhere else.  Since Sky Mall, Inc. does not have a markup policy, the prices within the pages of the Sky Mall catalog are the same as those found in each item’s original catalog.  Furthermore, the Sky Mall catalog guarantees the best price and will refund the difference if, within 30 days, the same item is found elsewhere for less.  Sales tax is applied to orders shipped to states where such taxes are applicable and at the same rates designated by the said state.

The merchandise ordered will then be drop-shipped by a third party transport company directly from each product’s original catalog merchant to the destination designated by the customer at the time the order was placed.  Rush and Next Day delivery is available at additional cost and shipping charges for delivery outside the United States including Army Post Offices (APOs) and Fleet Post Offices (FPOs) vary from one destination to another.
