Clothing Store Catalogs

I challenge anyone who can show me a clothing store of any significant size or reputation that does not carry an online catalog in conjunction with its printed catalog or by itself, and I will promptly show you a store that is about to shut its doors and leave the arena forever.  Let’s face it, with the Internet being such a significant part of nearly everyone’s lifestyle on just about any level and most particularly in commerce; customers using their desktop computers, laptops, iPods or cell phones have come to expect the hassle-free and timesaving convenience of everything being ready and available at their fingertips from any location at any time of the day or night.  Businesses that want to keep on operating in the growth mode or operating at all, must join all the others with their own websites.

Businesses which succumb to the peculiar yet exciting pressures of the twenty first century and make their presence known on the World Wide Web by establishing their own Internet websites, suddenly find new and prosperous avenues by which to sell their wares and thrive.  These innovative avenues which I am referring to are, of course, also known as online catalogs.

As I have already alluded to this before, clothing stores have joined the masses in setting up their websites and creating their online catalogs.  One such clothing store which I would like to discuss at this time is Talbots which dates back to 1947 in Hingham, a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts.  Talbots’ beginnings were very modest when it launched its direct mail business in 1948 with three thousand black and white flyers.  Today, however, Talbots is a foremost specialty retailer, cataloger and e-store of a broad diversity of women’s clothing in a wide range of sizes which includes premium sportswear, multipurpose and adaptable career oriented separates, casual wear and apparel for special occasions.  Talbots also carries a wide variety of footwear and accessories.  In 2006, Talbots purchased the J. Jill Group and broadened its horizons even further but the two brands continue to operate under their own names.

At this moment in time, Talbots owns and operates 869 brick and mortar stores in 47 states of the United State, the District of Columbia and Canada, with 592 stores being named Talbots while 277 stores are named J. Jill.   All 869 stores and both websites of the Talbots and J. Jill brands target women of thirty five years of age and older.

Served by well trained associates and wardrobe specialists, catalog sales and customer service for both stores (Talbots and J. Jill) is available twenty four hours a day and 365 days a year.  They are customer oriented and friendly, they are on perpetual standby and they are ready to assist customers with fittings, to advise, to address any concerns, to answer any questions and, of course, to sell their high quality clothing.
